minimal black and white is my new jam

it’s newguy in black and white - oh my!Since I revamped my desktop last year, I’ve revised it more than a few times. Playing with graphics is kinda like music to me. It’s a creative outlet that takes my mind to a different place - a perfect distraction!

Well. A few weeks back, I simplified my desktop and love it. I spend hours daily looking at my screens and this minimal b&w look on the main screen suits me well:

a screenshot of my new minimal black and white desktop, which includes a grid background and black and white icons

The icons for Apple’s built-in apps are tucked away in an easy-to-activate palette as changing those icons appears to be disallowed by the operating system. Though activating the palette brings a temporary burst of color to the desktop which looks nice against the b&w, I find myself quickly closing it to maintain the minimal feel (which makes me happy).

Cheers and thanks for visiting!

adventures of a donut maker

Something inside me makes me want to entertain. When I was 6 or 7-years old (a long, long time ago), I performed at a local movie theatre’s Saturday matinée. Lip-syncing Blue Suede Shoes to a group of Elvis movie fans, wigglin’ around like Elvis himself. I got a huge response from the crowd. I was hooked!

What the hell does that have to do with donuts?

I guess this curating thing I do on the web is just me hoping to entertain others with the links I share. It’s kinda like what someone hopes do do when they drop off a box of fresh donuts somewhere. Knowing the people in that office (or whatever kind of place) are going to get excited when they taste them donuts is certainly worth the effort.

So. When I put together new posts with links, I think of it as making the donuts. Needless to say, those people in line at 5:30am at the local donut shop or bagel shop can’t wait for those fresh goodies.

When I feel I’ve made some good donuts today, I’m a happy guy. But don’t you step on my blue suede shoes.

Cya!

something to say... simply.

I’ll go with the clear-headed stuttering old guy who takes his job seriously and cares about people over the only slightly younger narcissist who lies, cheats, and kinda sucked at the job, thank you.

Just my opinion as another (slightly younger) old guy...
